Terex® TA30 ADT Now With Independent Front Suspension
Motherwell, Scotland, March 2008 --- The 30 tonne articulated dump truck from Terex now comes with a fully independent front suspension system, as an option. This class leading feature is set to become standard on the trucks by the third quarter of the year.
New Independent Suspension System
The new, truly independent front suspension system on the TA30 is a unique, robust purpose-designed, parallel-linkage coil-spring system, which has been developed in conjunction with Timoney Mobility Systems of Navan (Ireland). This is an important advance in articulated hauler technology. It addresses the increasing emphasis on driver comfort in the light of new vibration-limiting legislation, and also adds significantly to the potential for increased productivity by providing a smooth ride and improved handling, which can result in faster cycle times.
Wet-Disc Brakes
Another important feature of the latest generation of Terex® articulated haulers is the provision of all-round, fully-enclosed wet-disc brakes on all wheels of the articulated trucks, which provide long-life and fade-free braking, improving not only overall braking performance and operating efficiency, but also greatly increasing service life and reducing operating costs.
Terex® ‘TA’ articulated haulers are fitted with the latest Tier 3 engines for optimum performance and fuel efficiency. The TA30 has the 350hp (Rated power) Cummins QSM11 engine and a maximum payload of 30.9 ton.
Experience with the new independent suspension TA30s on trial in high-production mining conditions in Germany has shown marked improvements in both productivity and fuel efficiency.
