Terex® Machines Help Laser ‘Scrum Down’ With Worcester Warriors
Coventry, UK, 17 January 2008
Terex dealer SM Plant Sales has sold five Terex® site dumpers to Laser Civil Engineering Ltd. of Worcestershire, who are currently using the machines to help redevelop Worcester Rugby Club’s Sixways stadium site – home of the Worcester Warriors.
The three PT6000 six-tonne machines and two PT9000 nine-tonne machines, delivered in November, were purchased by Laser after several years of hiring machines. Some of the machines are working on the major redevelopment of the Worcester Rugby Football Club Sixways ground near Junction 6 of the M5 motorway. Their section of the work on the site is planned to be completed in early 2008 as Worcester RFC redevelop this major site to include a new academy and improved visitor facilities.
Laser had previously purchased Terex® dumpers and rollers in 2001, but had since moved to rental. This new purchase demonstrates their return to fleet ownership.
Darren Kite, Contracts Director, Laser Civil Engineering Limited said: “Previously we hired all our machines and equipment, but our new company strategy is to purchase machinery and begin building a plant fleet. We have hired Terex® machines in the past, and the reason that we decided to purchase them was that the machines are very competitive, and we have confidence both in the product and in the superior level of service that Terex and SM Plant Sales offer. Terex is an international organisation and can provide the level of support that we require.”
The machines were purchased by Laser from Richard Johnson of SM Plant Sales, a long-standing Terex dealer, based in Rugby.
Mr. Kite continued: “We have been very impressed by the service and help given to us by Richard at SMPS and we will definitely continue to buy Terex® machines from him in the future, as we grow our business further.”
Richard Johnson of SM Plant Sales said: “I am delighted that SMK Plant Sales have won this important order from Laser Civil Engineering and we look forward to developing our relationship with them in the future. We are confident when promoting these excellent machines from Terex as they have high acceptability, efficiency and low cost of ownership. 2007 has been an excellent year for SM Plant Sales, with a 50 percent increase in turnover. We have an excellent relationship with Terex at all levels, and are proud to support these superb products which come with excellent aftermarket support.
“The Terex® products are superb, and will easily stand up to the tough working conditions our customers require them for.”
Adrian Hyde, Marketing Manager of Terex Construction Coventry said: “We are delighted to have sold these machines to a major company such as Laser. Our site dumpers and compaction rollers are designed and built to be among the best on the market. These products show how Terex is best placed to deliver productive, reliable and easy to operate machines to suit the needs of all customers, and to further cement our position as a leading manufacturer of site dumpers. We expect many more Terex® products to be seen working on UK sites, as Terex continues to expand.”
