Hirelink UK Orders Terex® Mini Dumpers

Coventry, UK, 2 Janurary 2008

Hirelink UK have purchased two Terex® HD1000 site dumpers from local dealer SM Plant Sales. Hirelink UK is a relatively new company which will celebrate its third year of business in May 2008.

Hirelink UK was formed in 2005 by former Speedy employees Jason Leeney and David Green. The company now has a head office depot in Birmingham and a second depot at West Bromwich, with a new depot in Solihull opening in May 2008. The plan is to have 5 depots in and around Birmingham within 5 years.

David Green, Sales Director for Hirelink UK explained: “Our strategy is to purchase new equipment and replace it every three years. These are our second and third Terex® dumpers as we have expanded from smaller hand tools, mixers and compressors and so on, into larger plant. We chose Terex because the machines are known to be a reliable piece of kit with a good reputation for endurance. The low cost of ownership was also a key factor in our purchase of the HD1000, and the fact that we are often asked for Terex® dumpers by our customers. So far, the machines have been constantly on hire to contractors and local builders and the machines have satisfied our customers’ needs. They have been commanding profitable weekly and weekend hire rates and have had virtually 100 percent utilization. We have had no problems with the machines as they have been extremely reliable.”

Jason Leeney, Operations Director, continued: “We have significantly grown this business since we started, and are on target for £1.5 million turnover this year. It has definitely been worthwhile starting a business in plant and tool hire and we are looking forward to growing the business over the coming years. Bigger equipment has become an increasingly important aspect of tool hire, and we are looking to expand our site dumper offering up to 3 tonnes. Terex® machines have an excellent reputation for maintaining residual values, which is a key factor in our fleet development strategy. Pelham at SM Plant Sales has been very helpful in making the selection of our plant a trouble-free experience, and we look forward to strengthening this relationship in the future.”

Pelham Milligan of SM Plant Sales said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to assist Hirelink UK with this deal - they are an exciting new hire company and we look forward to further developing our relationship over the coming years. The Terex® mini dumpers are superb, and will easily stand up to the tough working conditions our customers require them for.”

Adrian Hyde, Marketing Manager of Terex Construction Coventry said: “We are delighted to have sold this machine to a new entrant to the hire industry such as Hirelink UK. Jason and David have shown that the hire industry is still an attractive one to enter, and that successful businesses can continue to grow in this highly competitive market.  Our HD1000 is a popular machine in the plant and tool hire rental market, as the narrow width and ability to tip into a standard builder’s skip make it popular with small builders and weekend hirers alike.  All of our site dumpers – including the HD1000 – are specifically designed to be rental tough, and continue to prove themselves to be one of the best on the market. These machines show how Terex is best placed to deliver productive, reliable and easy to operate machines to suit the needs of all customers, and further cement our position as a leading manufacturer of site dumpers.”
