Genie Launches New GTH™-4017 SX Telehandler

Genie GTH-4017SX

Newark, UK (July 13, 2008) – The new GTH™-4017 SX is the latest addition to the world-class line-up of Genie® telehandlers created for the rental market. With increased power and manoeuvrability, the GTH™-4017 SX has a compact design making it ideal for congested jobsites.

“This new machine has been built to enable simpler service and maintenance, making it ideal for the rental industry,” said Carlo Forini, General Manager for the telehandler product range. “This telehandler has been designed to provide operators with high-quality performance, whilst remaining easy-to-use. Genie has also added value by providing a road transfer mode, in which the hydraulic pump allows selection of the right engine power for low-performance work thereby saving fuel. All the enhancements made to the GTH™-4017 SX will bring real value to any fleet.”

With a maximum height of 17.19 m and a maximum lift capacity of 4,000 kg, this new Genie® telehandler delivers an impressive 700 kg lift capacity at a maximum forward reach of 13.3 m.

The machine’s improved manoeuvrability has been reached due to the decrease of the steering radius (2.42 m inside and 4.65 m outside) and to the new ‘inching’ function that provides excellent control at the lowest speed. The machine’s dimensions (2.32 m wide/2.44 m high) also make it easier to operate in tight spaces. Moreover, operators will enjoy the precise and easy use of a multi-function 4x1 joystick and while manoeuvring the machine they can take advantage of the optional rear tyre alignment system.

The GTH™-4017 SX telehandler features a new-generation cabin designed for operator comfort and productivity, placing controls and load charts within easy reach. The operator can enjoy increased comfort whilst appreciating the power and smoothness of the new hydrostatic transmission with an electronically controlled 101 hp Tier 3 engine.

A new four section boom has been added to the GTH™-4017 SX, making the telehandler more compact when fully retracted and the movements faster when lifting/lowering and extending/retracting. The machine maintains its usual stability due to a dedicated stability control system, standard on all Genie® telehandlers, and to a hydraulic accumulator smoothing out shocks while operating the boom.

Modifications have been made to the GTH™-4017 SX telehandler for improved serviceability, maintenance and safety, making the machine ideal for rental. The engine compartment opens wider for better access, new engine air intake housings have been fitted to better protect the battery from external contaminants and rain, and a dedicated maintenance collar has been added to the boom’s lift cylinder to allow safer access between the boom and chassis.

Manufactured in Perugia, Italy, the new GTH™-4017 SX is now available throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, South America and parts of Asia.
