Electro-Services Ltd. Chooses Terex Quality And Reliability

MOTHERWELL, SCOTLAND, 12 December 2008 ---Electro-Services Ltd. specialises in providing the utilities industry with hire, sales and servicing of specialist pipe jointing and underground location equipment, so the recent addition of 20 Terex® site dumpers to its hire fleet allows the company to provide a full utilities offering to its customers.

“Our specialty is utilities, first and foremost,” comments Mr. James, “So supplying a range of capital equipment to complement this industry was seen as a progressive step by our customers. We deal with many larger utilities companies, such as Morrisons, National Grid, Scotia Gas and Morgan Est., but this represents only 20 percent of our business. The other 80 percent are sub-contracting companies who have realised the benefits of access to a full package of quality excavator, dumper and specialist pipe jointing, and cable location equipment to meet their specialist needs.”

Electro-Services Ltd. purchased the Terex® machines, which range from the 1 tonne to 6 tonne versions, in September 2008. The reason the company chose Terex was simple, says Chris James: “Price is, of course, a factor but I perceived Terex to offer more proven quality and reliability over the other brand that we considered, something I want in machines that I hire out.”

Mr. James also states that downtime on utilities sites often means hefty fines, so his customers are looking for a reliable service with reliable machines at the right price. This, he says, not only applies to dumpers but to any equipment that Terex supplies on site.
