TEREX CONSTRUCTION SHOWCASES INVESTMENTS MADE TO NEW, IMPROVED PRODUCTS AT BAUMA 2010
MOTHERWELL, UNITED KINGDOM, 21 JANUARY 2010 - Terex Construction will use the Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany on April 19-25 to showcase its wide range of equipment and latest models. The Company’s commitment to helping its customers in Europe and around the world through tough economic times is apparent through the significant investment, made in the launch of a brand new TL310 wheel loader, the TA300 and TA400 articulated trucks, a new generation TW110 mobile excavator and the introduction of a range of new hydrostatic-drive site dumpers.
Visitors to Terex stand F7, 704/705 will also see the Company’s wide product range - from smaller products, such as the PT80 compact track loader, to larger Fuchs material handlers which are renowned for their toughness and durability. Well-respected workhorses such as the versatile 970 backhoe loader, TC225 excavator and various Terex® material handlers will also be at the event.
“Lowering the cost of ownership, improving productivity and enhancing operator comfort are the main development areas and serve as the focus for all Terex Construction machines,” says Brian Heathcote, Vice President EMEAR – Terex Construction.
The TA400’s reliability and durability were proven through rigorous testing at a facility in South Africa, known for its varied terrain and arduous environmental conditions. This investment in testing confirmed drivetrain heat balance and lubrication, drivetrain high torque endurance and hydraulic system full-load durability.
The interior of the TA400 articulated truck, which replaces the Company’s current TA40 model, benefits from updated air conditioning and a re-designed steering wheel, while an extended engine oil service interval helps lower the cost of ownership. Key operating switches have been relocated so they are now within easier reach of the driver. To make the working environment even more comfortable for the operator, interior cab noise levels have been reduced. As a result of a new hood and grill design, the truck also has an appropriately modern appearance for the start of a new decade.
With its operating weight of 17.5 t and standard bucket size of 3.1m3, the greatly anticipated TL310 wheel loader fits into one of the most popular size class of wheel loaders in the world and means Terex now offers 11 wheel loaders ranging from 3.9 to 17.5 t.
The TL310 has an automatic reverse function and grid filter on top which is designed to minimize the amount of times the operator has to stop the machine to clean the cooling system, which will have a positive impact on production levels. Terex has also taken ease of servicing and maintenance into consideration by incorporating a wide engine hood opening which allows barrier-free access to the engine and its components. In addition, the machine’s hydrostatic drive helps reduce fuel consumption – a major advantage in today’s economy – and the transversally mounted engine of the TL310 gives the operator good visibility around the machine.
Terex will also show its new range of 2 and 3-tonne hydrostatic-drive site dumpers at Bauma. On the stand will be the TA2SH and the TA2SEH - with their 1200 litre heaped skip capacity, narrow 1492 mm total width, and maximum travel speed of 10 mph (16 kph) the new models will be popular with users who wish to efficiently move material around tight construction sites. All models have a gas-operated folding ROPS frame for ease of use, plus excellent maintenance access for the engine. The side exit exhaust system and restrictor system help reduce the pressure of exhaust gases before they are emitted, thereby decreasing the amount of blown dust.
Also making its first appearance is the new hydrostatic TA3.5SH, an update to the previous 3.5 tonne model (PS3500H). On all models, the hydrostatic transmissions drive through a new drop box to new front and rear axles, and directional drive is selected through the steering column mounted lever, which allows the operator to smoothly change from forward to reverse without using a manual clutch or gear lever.
Terex looks forward to welcoming visitors to its stand F7 704/705 at Bauma 2010 in Munich, Germany, April 19-25.
