Terex® Trucks Working On £5 Million Infrastructure For Scottish Industrial Estate

MOTHERWELL, SCOTLAND, FEBRUARY 2008 --- A new industrial estate, which includes units of land for businesses and a potential area for a housing estate, is currently underway in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. The £5 million infrastructure project, the first civil engineering job to be commissioned in Fife, is being led by renowned environmental engineering company, Ascot Environmental and is due for completion around May 2008.

Ascot Environmental has hired much of its equipment from leading plant hire company Hydrex, and two of the Terex® TA30 articulated dump trucks are proving to be an excellent match for the earthmoving requirements of the job. The 30-tonne trucks are being used to prepare the land for prospective buyers and also for the installation of utilities such as sewage pipes.

The infrastructure project began in May 2007 and involves building 6 roundabouts and a main road through the industrial estate. Ascot Environmental will also handle all the utilities which go with the job, including gas, electrics, sewage, surface water, telecommunications and street lighting.

Derek Burns, Regional Director for Hydrex, said: “We own 14 Terex® articulated trucks and our confidence in their reliability and endurance meant that we had no hesitation in recommending 2 of them to work on a muck-shifting job such as this. We only supply products that deliver results, so that our customers can concentrate on their business, comfortable in the knowledge that the movement of their products is in safe hands and their productivity levels are the best they can be.”

Derek Turner, Project Manager for Ascot Environmental, added: “We have always maintained a good working relationship with Hydrex as they supply quality equipment and are receptive to our needs. For example, the Terex® trucks have been more than satisfactory at the role they were brought in to do. Hydrex’s customer support and reliable machinery have been a key factor in ensuring that we are on time and on budget.”
