Startup Company Purchases Its First Machine…And It’s A Terex

Terex® Backhoe Tops Fleet Wish List For AMB Wheel Digger Hire

MOTHERWELL, SCOTLAND, 24 November, 2008 --- It was a landmark moment for 28-year-old Andy Bunney of AMB Wheel Digger Hire recently when he purchased the first machine for his new company, a Terex® 880 Elite Backhoe Loader from Terex Dealer, Kellands.

Before starting his own hire company, Mr. Bunney was impressed when he trialled a Terex® Backhoe whilst employed as a machine operator. His experience with the machine was so positive that he made it his first purchase for his new fleet.

Bunney says: “I wanted a piece of equipment that is versatile, reliable and has enough power for the tough jobs I will be using it on. The 880’s 7-in-1 front bucket gives me this versatility, as it allows me to use the machine for many different operations. Power isn’t a problem. The high breakout force allows easier filling of the front bucket, giving a fuller load and increasing efficiency as there are less journeys to be made. The machine has great pushing power, and the ‘Diff Lock’ pedal gives incredible traction in very slippery conditions. This means the loader is rarely down due to weather conditions.

“Terex also use a narrow boom and dipper, which I like,” Bunney continues, “as it gives me good visibility when digging. The tight turning circle of the backhoe makes it highly maneuverable, without having to continually use independent brakes.”
